This official Machu Picchu entrance ticket issued by the Peruvian government grants you access to the Upper Terraces located in Circuit 1 of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. In addition, you will have access to the Sun Gate portal (Intipunku portal), the original Inca entrance to the enigmatic citadel. This entrance ticket will not allow you to visit the middle or lower sectors of Machu Picchu where the Inca ruins are. The upper terraces route only takes about 40 minutes to complete and the hike to the Sun Gate portal or Intipunku takes about 1 to 1.5 hrs each way. You must choose the specific time you will enter Machu Picchu when making your reservation between the hours of 8am to 11am. There is only a 30-minute late tolerance so try to arrive on time.
