The trekking routes to Machu Picchu In addition to the archaeological site tours, the visit to Machu Picchu can be complemented by hiking trails to the mountains or to little explored Inca constructions. The mountain routes lead to the peaks of the Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu and Huchuy Picchu mountains. All traverse stone paths and stairways built by the Incas hundreds of years ago. In addition, there are hiking trails to the Inca Bridge, the Temple of the Moon (the Great Cavern) and the Intipunku (Sun Gate).
